Based out of the Tinsley Industrial Estate close to Sheffield’s city centre, the Sheffield team are responsible for commercial drain unblocking and repairs throughout the city and the broader South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Lincolnshire regions.
Lanes is the biggest privately owned specialist drainage contractor in the country, with more than 2,000 team members based all over the UK and Ireland. We play a key role in keeping drains and sewers clear for homeowners, and also offer many services for businesses too - our Sheffield depot specialises in CCTV surveying and advising commercial organisations on how to properly dispose of fats, oils and grease.

We are always on the lookout for qualified HGV operators to join our team in Sheffield and fill one of our driver/operator job vacancies. You will get behind the wheel of one of our distinctive fleet of Lanes vehicles, but that is just the start - this is much more than a basic driver role.
As a vehicle operator, you will play a leading role in carrying out essential drainage engineering, repair and maintenance work. You will interact with customers, providing support and the great customer service that Lanes are known for. You will also get to use sophisticated engineering tools to complete drainage work. Before you start in this role, we will give you extensive training on how to operate this equipment.
Prior drainage industry experience is beneficial but not essential for these roles. If you are a professional driver with a background in other sectors, this is an exciting opportunity to retrain and take your skills further.

As a groundworker or small civils worker, you will be in charge of finding the most efficient way to complete a job while keeping disruption for residents or property owners to a minimum.

Our office-based staff in Sheffield are an essential component of our overall success. They administer, plan, manage and support all of the practical work we do. When you step into one of our office-based roles, you will work to build strong relationships with our clients, from homeowners dealing with drainage issues, to business leaders working on major civil infrastructure projects.
