Who we employ at our Swindon depot

HGV driver/operators

HGV driver/operators at Lanes are relied upon for much more than simply driving. Instead, by taking on this role, you will be trained in the use of our sophisticated jetting equipment and other tools to get involved directly in our core engineering work, while also liaising with customers directly.

This will give you the opportunity to take the wheel of one of our distinctive fleet of state-of-the-art Lanes vehicles, utilising your professional driving skills while also broadening your expertise and gaining new qualifications.

Prior drainage industry experience is beneficial for these roles, but is by no means essential, as we are keen to take on professional drivers who are looking for an exciting opportunity to take their careers in a new direction.

Roles include:

Lanes is one of the UK’s biggest employers of drainage engineers, who are responsible for surveying, repairing and unblocking drains and sewers of all shapes and sizes. We make use of the very latest methods and technologies, responding to the needs of our customers and operating to deliver lasting results within strict timescales.

As such, we are looking for highly capable applicants to join our Swindon engineering team to support our work with Thames Water. Our ideal applicants will be eager to learn from some of the best in the business, and will be able to bring strong customer service skills to the role as well as engineering proficiency.

By joining Lanes, you will be able to expand and develop your knowledge and capabilities over time, supported by our commitment to high-quality in-house training.

Office-based roles

Do you have strong communication and organisational skills, as well as an aptitude for coordinating projects within a multidisciplinary team? If so, you could be perfect for one of our office-based roles in Swindon.
