Our Rye Meads office is a satellite depot for our Slough utility hub and serves the needs of both domestic and commercial customers across Surrey, London and the South East. The Slough hub, along with our wider network of local South East depots, employs over 900 wastewater engineers and support staff. We are also an exclusive partner to Thames Water and are proud to utilise state-of-the-art equipment to deliver high-quality drainage services throughout the region and beyond.

Who we employ at the Rye Meads depot

At Lanes Group, we offer job vacancies based both in offices and also for transport and engineering roles. 

HGV driver/operators

We offer a number of HGV driver/operator job vacancies in and around the Rye Meads area, so if you have the relevant skills and qualifications, this could be the perfect new challenge.

This type of position is ideal if you’re looking for a professional driving role that is more varied, as our drivers are required to be directly involved in our drainage and engineering work. Our state-of-the-art Lanes vehicles feature advanced equipment and our operators have the opportunity to attend sewage treatment plants, business premises and also carry out home visits where necessary. 

Although you will need to be HGV qualified, you don’t need any previous drainage industry experience for this role. Any professional drivers we hire will receive the high-quality training necessary to thrive in their career.

Engineers

Our drainage engineers are pivotal to our work in and around the Rye Meads area. As one of the biggest employers of drainage engineers in the UK, we’re proud to offer job opportunities to highly skilled individuals that want a strong career within the drainage industry. Our engineers are responsible for carrying out repair work as well as imaging, and unblocking drains and sewers of all shapes and sizes. They utilise advanced, state-of-the-art technology to carry out essential maintenance work as well as attending any emergencies. 

Our engineer roles include: 

• CCTV drainage engineers and assistants
• Drainage engineers and assistants
• Jetting engineers and assistants

Office-based

Our Slough hub tackles over 1,000 maintenance jobs, making it incredibly important that we have the full support of office-based staff in Rye Meads to keep things running smoothly at all times.

Our team of office workers speak directly with customers to ensure they are happy and fully informed about the work we’re carrying out at all times. They also liaise with our wastewater engineers, providing them with any important information required to effectively carry out their jobs. 

If you have strong communication skills, love working with others and are great at problem-solving, then an office-based role at Lanes could offer you an excellent opportunity.
