With a depot based in Eastleigh, just north of Southampton city centre, the local team provides a complete range of commercial & residential drain and sewer services for clients who are often based in rural areas. This includes septic tank servicing and installation, as well as flood management and emergency response services to protect residents living near the Test and Itchen rivers.

Since the company was founded in 1992, Lanes have grown from a team of 15 into the UK’s biggest privately-owned drainage contractor, providing national coverage with the help of our 2,200 employees across the UK and Ireland.

Lanes’ Southampton team are always on call and ready to respond to emergency situations at locations along England’s south coast. This includes some unusual jobs - in 2012, our Southampton team was called to survey and repair the drainage system at Marwell Wildlife in Winchester, Hampshire, where the work was overseen by the local monkeys!

HGV driver/operators

Lanes Group are among the biggest employers of drainage engineers in the UK. Our team of qualified engineers in Southampton are responsible for imaging, repairing and unblocking drains and sewers of all shapes and sizes across the region

Working with some of the most sophisticated technology available and serving both domestic and commercial clients, our engineers are highly skilled and ready to handle any challenge. Those joining the team will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most qualified professionals in the industry today.

Engineers

Our team of qualified engineers in St Neots are responsible for imaging, repairing and unblocking drains and sewers of all shapes and sizes across the region, working in close conjunction with our partners at Anglian Water.

Lanes Group are among the biggest employers of drainage engineers in the UK, working with some of the most sophisticated technology available to deliver top-quality services for domestic and commercial clients. As such, we expect our engineering recruits to be highly skilled and ready to work alongside some of the most qualified professionals in the industry.

Roles include:

• CCTV drainage engineers and assistants
• Drainage engineers and assistants
• Jetting engineers and assistants

Groundworkers

Many of our drainage projects require renovation and excavation work. Our groundworkers and small civils workers are in charge of making sure this process is completed efficiently, minimising any potential disruption for the resident or property owner.

Ranging from straightforward excavations of individual pipes to large-scale digs involving hundreds of tonnes of material, our excavation projects can be physically demanding, which is why candidates joining the team should have an affinity for outdoor work.

Roles include:

• Excavation operatives and assistants

Office-based

The scope of the work we do with Anglian Water in St Neots is significant, which is why we depend on highly-skilled office-based staff to smoothly oversee the administration, planning and management of everything we do. This team is responsible for handling enquiries and building a strong relationship with clients, while providing our engineers and drivers with the information they need out in the field.

Our office workers have a crucial role to play in our success at Lanes. Anyone looking to apply for one of these roles should be highly organised and capable of working as part of a large multidisciplinary team.
