Lanes Group is the UK’s largest privately owned specialist drainage contractor, and we’re currently on the lookout for new staff members to join the team at our operating centre in Iver, delivering drainage-related services for domestic and commercial customers in the London area and beyond.
The team in Iver works in close cooperation with our central utility hub in Slough, which operates as the exclusive wastewater network maintenance partner to Thames Water, the largest water supplier in the UK with 15 million customers. We employ more than 900 wastewater engineers and support staff to service the Thames Water contract, operating more than 350 specialist drainage vehicles and tackling more than 1,000 maintenance jobs every day.
Our Iver-based employees make a vital contribution to this effort, using state-of-the-art equipment and vehicles to deliver planned and reactive services for a wide variety of clients. We also rely on a sizeable team of office-based staff to maintain the high standards for which we’re known.

The Iver facility requires qualified HGV driver/operators to get behind the wheel of one of our distinctive fleet of state-of-the-art Lanes vehicles. Much more varied than a standard driving role, Lanes driver/operators help us carry out our most essential repair and maintenance work, receiving training to perform drainage-related engineering tasks using top-of-the-range equipment.
The high-volume work will see drivers interact with a wide range of customers, including domestic homeowners, business operators or staff in charge of sewage treatment plants. These roles do not necessarily depend on prior drainage industry experience, meaning professional HGV drivers with backgrounds in other sectors are welcome to apply.

As one of the biggest employers of drainage engineers in the UK, Lanes Group is always looking for skilled new candidates to expand our pool of engineering expertise in Iver. These roles involve imaging, repairing and unblocking drains and sewers of all shapes and sizes, working with some of the most sophisticated technology available.
