Who we employ at the Chester depot

HGV drivers

The driver/operator job vacancies we offer in Chester are so much more than basic driver roles. As such, we are looking for qualified HGV operators who are keen to take on new responsibilities as they become integral members of our engineering crew.

Taking the wheel of one of our distinctive Lanes vehicles, our vehicle operators will get directly involved in the essential engineering, repair and maintenance work we perform, making full use of our top-of-the-range tools and equipment, while also delivering caring customer service for our clients.

Prior drainage industry experience is beneficial but not essential, making this an ideal opportunity for professional drivers from other backgrounds to retrain and explore an exciting new line of work.

• Jet vac operators

Engineers

We are among the largest employers of drainage engineers in the UK, employing some of the country’s most skilled and experienced professionals. By taking on one of our engineering roles, you’ll get a chance to be part of a highly effective team as they survey, repair and unblock across North Wales and the North West.

Working with some of the most sophisticated technology available, you will deal with domestic and commercial projects of all sizes, making use of the very best methods available to deliver optimal outcomes for our clients.

Our engineering crew are at the heart of everything we do at Lanes Group, which is why we invest heavily in training these highly skilled workers to expand their abilities and develop their credentials over time.

• CCTV drainage engineers and assistants
• Drainage engineers and assistants
• Jetting engineers and assistants

Groundworkers

Drainage projects often require renovation and excavation work, whether this involves a large-scale excavation of hundreds of tonnes of material, or a smaller project to unearth an individual pipe.

Our groundworkers and small civils workers are in charge of carrying this work out as efficiently as possible, minimising disruption for the resident or property owner and supporting the work of our drainage engineers.

We are always looking for new excavation operatives to join our Chester team, and have plenty of groundwork opportunities for candidates who are skilled in physical outdoor work.

• Excavation operatives and assistants

Office-based

Our office-based staff handle the administration, planning, management and support work that Lanes requires to keep the rest of our nationwide teams running smoothly.

By joining our administrative team in Flintshire, you will be responsible for coordinating our work across North Wales, Chester and the surrounding areas. This involves providing our field-based engineers and drivers with the information they need as they need it, while liaising with our customers to provide reassurance and communication as necessary.

Anyone looking to take on one of these roles should have strong organisational skills, with a particular affinity for working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
