Our Birmingham team have played a big part in that. The demand for our drain repair services has proven high enough that we have outgrown our premises three times!

Who we employ at the Birmingham depot

HGV driver/operators

We are always on the lookout for qualified HGV operators to apply for our driver/operator job roles in Birmingham, and take the wheel of one of our distinctive fleet of Lanes vehicles.

Our vehicle operator positions are much more than basic driver roles, and see staff getting directly involved in carrying out essential engineering, repair and maintenance work. They will also interact directly with clients, providing top-notch customer service.

Drivers will receive extensive training on the use of our top-of-the-range tools and equipment to prepare them for the role. As such, prior drainage industry experience is not considered essential, making this an ideal opportunity for professional drivers with backgrounds in other sectors to retrain in an exciting new line of work.

Roles include:

• Jet vac operators

Engineers

Our engineering crew are at the centre of everything we do at Lanes Group, and we are among the biggest employers of drainage engineers in the country.

By joining our team of qualified engineers in Birmingham, you will be responsible for imaging, repairing and unblocking drains and sewers of all shapes and sizes across the region, working with some of the most sophisticated technology available.

These highly skilled jobs will give you the opportunity to work alongside some of the most qualified engineers in the industry, while dealing directly with and providing reassurance to customers from various sectors.

• CCTV drainage engineers and assistants
• Drainage engineers and assistants
• Jetting engineers and assistants

Groundworkers

Many of our drainage projects require renovation and excavation work, handled by our groundworkers and small civils workers. This ranges from straightforward excavations of individual pipes to large-scale projects that involve moving hundreds of tonnes of material.

We are always looking for new excavation operatives in Birmingham, and have plenty of opportunities to offer candidates with an affinity for physical outdoor work. Our groundwork team is in charge of carrying out efficient excavation work, with minimal disruption for the property owner.

Roles include:

• Excavation operatives and assistants

Office-based

Our office-based staff oversees the administration, planning, management and support functions at Lanes Group, and play an indispensable role in making our work run smoothly.

By joining our office-based team in Birmingham, you will work to build a strong relationship with clients, while providing our field-based engineers and drivers with the information they need to complete their urgent work in a timely manner.

Anyone looking to take on one of these roles needs to be highly organised and capable of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
