The Stockton depot is based in County Durham and delivers planned and reactive wastewater network service maintenance work for our client Northumbrian Water, which serves 2.7 million people over an area of 1,488 miles. Our jobs in Middlesbrough range from unblocking and cleaning sewers and maintaining water treatment works to full HD CCTV surveys of existing assets.

We have operated in Stockton since 1999, and are extremely committed to giving back to the region, having recently relocated to a new site and invested in a new depot. Since opening this utility hub, we’ve spent more than £1 million on brand new equipment to carry out the services Northumbrian Water require, allowing the sizeable workforce we employ in Stockton to deliver high-quality sewer maintenance work using the very latest tools and equipment.

Who we employ at the Middlesbrough depot

HGV driver/operators

We are always looking for qualified HGV operators to join our team. By successfully applying for a vacancy, you’ll be able to take the wheel of one of our distinctive fleet of Lanes vehicles and get directly involved in the essential engineering, repair and maintenance work we perform.

Our driver/operator job vacancies in Middlesbrough are much more than basic driver roles; team members will go hands-on with our top-of-the-range tools and equipment, while interacting directly with clients to deliver a sensitive and responsive customer experience.

All drivers will receive extensive training to prepare them for the role, meaning prior drainage industry experience is not essential. As such, this could be an ideal opportunity for professional drivers to retrain in an exciting new line of work.

• Jet vac operators

Engineers

Our engineering crew are the lifeblood of our work at Lanes Group, responsible for imaging, repairing and unblocking drains and sewers of all shapes and sizes across the Middlesbrough region.

The team works with some of the most sophisticated technology available and serves clients from multiple sectors. These highly skilled jobs offer an opportunity to work alongside some of the most experienced engineers in the UK, while dealing directly with customers in need.

Roles include:

• CCTV drainage engineers and assistants
• Jetting engineers and assistants

Groundworkers

Many of our drainage projects require renovation and excavation work, with larger-scale projects sometimes involving the excavation of hundreds of tonnes of material. Our groundworkers and small civils workers are the ones responsible for making sure this process is completed efficiently

By joining our team of groundworkers in Middlesbrough, you’ll take charge of this important work, making it possible for our engineers to carry out their repairs with minimal disruption for the resident or property owner. An aptitude for physical outdoor work is essential for these roles.

• Excavation operatives and assistants

Office-based

Our office-based staff in Middlesbrough are responsible for building strong relationships with clients, while providing our team of field-based engineers and drivers with the information they need to carry out their work efficiently and safely.

Without our office-based staff overseeing these key administration, planning, management and support functions, Lanes simply wouldn’t be where it is today. Anyone looking to get involved in this crucial work needs to be highly organised, with an affinity for working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
