Who we employ at the Cardiff depot

HGV driver/operators

We’re on the lookout for qualified and skilled HGV operators to join our team. These are much more than basic driver roles; by taking the wheel of one of our distinctive fleet of Lanes vehicles, you’ll be able to get directly involved in the essential engineering, repair and maintenance work we perform.

Our driver/operator job roles in Cardiff involve hands-on work with top-of-the-range tools and equipment; staff will also be counted upon to provide a sensitive and responsive customer experience for domestic and commercial clients.

Prior drainage industry experience is not essential for these roles, as all drivers will receive extensive training to get them up to speed on everything they will need to know. As such, this could be an ideal opportunity for professional drivers to retrain in an exciting new line of work.

Roles include:

Engineers

Our engineering crew are at the heart of everything we do at Lanes Group, taking the lead in imaging, repairing and unblocking drains and sewers of all shapes and sizes across the South Wales region.

Working with some of the most sophisticated technology available, the team serves clients in need from a range of sectors, working alongside some of the most experienced engineers in the UK.

Roles include:

Groundworkers

Renovation and excavation work is often required in our drainage projects, ranging from small digs to large-scale excavation of hundreds of tonnes of material. Our groundworkers and small civils workers are the ones responsible for carrying this out, while keeping disruption to a bare minimum for the client.

By joining our team of groundworkers in Cardiff, you’ll take charge of this important work, helping our engineers carry out their repairs as efficiently as possible. An aptitude for physical outdoor work is essential for these hands-on roles.

Roles include:

Office-based

We couldn’t do what we do in Cardiff without our office-based staff working to build strong relationships with clients, while relaying key information to our field-based engineers and drivers to help them carry out their work efficiently and safely.

This team is responsible for key administration, planning, management and support functions, meaning applicants for these roles need to be highly organised and able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
