The Derby depot tackles drainage emergencies and drain maintenance for a whole range of organisations such as universities, the medical industry and construction companies, as well as working closely with local Internal Drainage Boards (IDBs).

We need qualified HGV operators to take the wheel of one of our distinctive fleet of Lanes vehicles and get directly involved in carrying out essential engineering, repair and maintenance work.
Our Derby-based driver/operator job vacancies are much more than basic driver roles - our vehicle operators respond to regular callouts, and use state-of-the-art tools and equipment to resolve drainage emergencies. In this role, you will interact directly with clients, saving the day as you deliver top-notch customer service.
Drivers will receive extensive training on the use of our top-of-the-range tools and equipment to prepare them for the role, so prior drainage industry experience is not essential. This is an ideal opportunity for professional drivers to retrain in an exciting new line of work that really stretches them.

Our engineering crew are the lifeblood of our work at Lanes Group, and our Derby team is no exception. Lanes’ qualified engineers are responsible for imaging, repairing and unblocking drains and sewers of all shapes and sizes across the region, working with some of the most sophisticated technology available and serving clients from multiple sectors.
We are among the biggest employers of drainage engineers in the UK, providing highly skilled jobs that offer an opportunity to work alongside experienced colleagues, while dealing directly with customers in need.

We are always looking for new excavation operatives to join our team in Derby. Many of our drainage projects require renovation and excavation work, with larger-scale projects sometimes involving the excavation of hundreds of tonnes of material.
Our groundworkers and small civils workers are in charge of making sure this process is completed efficiently, with minimal disruption for residents and property owners. This is an ideal role for candidates who like physical outdoor work.

Our office-based staff in Derby work diligently to build strong relationships with clients, while providing our team of field-based engineers and drivers with the information they need to carry out their work to a high standard.
