Our Stoke-on-Trent hub is one of a number of satellite sites working in tandem with our broader Stafford utility hub, which operates exclusively under a contract with the infrastructure support service provider Amey.

Working on behalf of local water supplier Severn Trent Water, which serves around 4.5 million households and businesses, we play an essential role in keeping the region’s drains and sewers clean and flowing.

Who we employ at the Stoke-on-Trent utility hub

HGV driver/operators

If you are looking for a professional driving job that offers much more variety and responsibility, then our HGV driver/operator roles could be ideal. At Lanes, our tanker and HGV drivers get involved directly in our essential engineering work, while also liaising with customers directly.

You will receive extensive training to provide you with all the skills you will need to operate our state-of-the-art equipment and carry out our drain repair techniques. You will also have a key role to play in communicating with customers, offering reassurance and information at their time of need.

Because these roles do not rely on prior drainage industry experience, professional HGV drivers from all backgrounds are welcome to apply if they are keen to embrace a brand new challenge.

Engineers

As one of the biggest employers of drainage engineers in the UK, Lanes Group is always looking for skilled candidates to expand our team in Stoke-on-Trent, helping us better meet the needs of the community we serve.

Working with some of the most experienced colleagues in the sector, our engineers are involved in imaging, repairing and unblocking drains and sewers for homes and businesses, utilising sophisticated equipment and methods to deliver effective, efficient solutions for our clients.

As such, we are looking for well-organised candidates with strong people skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. By building good relationships with our customers and your colleagues, you will be helping us succeed, while also acquiring new skills.
