Drainage industry jobs in the Stafford area

Lanes Group is the UK’s largest privately owned specialist drainage contractor, and our depot in Stafford plays a key role in helping us serve the needs of customers across the Staffordshire region.

We’re looking for new team members to help us expand our Stafford operations and deliver responsive, high-quality services through our contract with the infrastructure support service provider Amey, on behalf of local water supplier Severn Trent Water, which serves around 4.5 million households and businesses.

Working exclusively through our contract with Amey, the team at the Stafford utility hub work to solve drainage problems for domestic and commercial clients, as well as offering specialist waste management and tanker services.

We have worked with Amey in Stafford since 2011, and the core Grindley Farm site now employs around 180 people, operating more than 100 specialist vehicles and carrying out more than 250 blockage clearances each and every day. Our Stafford contract work also encompasses hubs in Shropshire, Derby, Nottingham and Leicester, with nearly 110 staff members employed across these four locations.

We currently have a range of vacancies available in Stafford, and are in particular looking for candidates who can work flexibly or out of hours. We offer a wide variety of shift patterns, including 7-on-7-off and 4-on-4-off arrangements, as well as more standard Monday-to-Friday routines.

The main Grindley Farm depot is located at a rural site 4.5 miles away from Uttoxeter; our affiliated Shropshire, Derby, Nottingham and Leicester hubs offer alternatives for those who would find it difficult to commute to this location.

Much of the work we do in Stafford is contract-based, which means permanent staff often work side-by-side with professionals on fixed-term assignments. Our roles range from short-term contracts through to long-term placements, with plenty of scope for ongoing training and personal development.
