HGV mechanic job responsibilities
At Lanes Group, we deliver a responsive and efficient service to millions of customers across the UK, and have invested in a broad range of HGV vehicles and equipment to make this possible.
As an experienced HGV mechanic, you will be tasked with carrying out servicing and repairs on equipment that spans multiple manufacturers and models. You’ll also assist with the delivery of our services, develop your skills and stay up-to-date with the latest vehicle technology.
As such, our vehicle mechanic jobs will require you to inspect and diagnose problems with vehicle engines and mechanical or electrical components accurately and effectively, using computer-based diagnostic equipment and your own expert judgement.
You will also repair or replace broken or defective parts, carry out DVSA vehicle testing and road-test vehicles to check repairs, and make sure that all of the relevant documentation is completed to the required standard.
Salary and working conditions
Because our HGV mechanic jobs are highly skilled and involve a lot of responsibility, Lanes Group is prepared to offer a generous and competitive per annum salary, with rates of pay scaling according to each candidate’s qualifications and experience.
