Debi Bell

Head of HR Services, Lanes Group

Debi Bell is a highly qualified HR professional who has been with Lanes Group, the biggest privately-owned drainage and wastewater contractor in the UK, since October 2013.

During her time as head of HR services at Lanes, Ms Bell has overseen the development of the company’s HR department, working closely with its directors and senior managers on key personnel management issues. She has played a crucial role in helping the organisation maintain efficiency and legal compliance in its policies and procedures, and ensuring that the interests of the Lanes workforce are represented at the highest level.

As an MSc CIPD-qualified professional HR generalist, Ms Bell can also boast significant experience of working with a number of other high-profile organisations, including Costcutter Supermarkets Group, Morrisons and Chem-Dry UK, over a career spanning more than 15 years. During this time, she oversaw the successful opening of a new supermarket while coordinating the closure of the old site, managed numerous acquisitions, and designed and delivered training in a range of settings.

Additionally, Debi has attended a two-day mental health first aid course, which is designed to enable first aiders to spot changes in people, such as mood shifts, absences or reductions in work performance. This has been of great benefit to the business, and she aims to secure more mental health first aiders across the group.

Ms Bell is available to discuss and offer expertise on a wide range of HR-related topics, including:

She can also comment extensively on the work she has done with Lanes Group since 2013, and the challenges of managing a workforce of more than 2,000 as they deliver top-quality drainage services to domestic and commercial clients across the UK.
