Lanes Group plc’s bid team manager, Haylie Orton, has achieved Practitioner Level with the Association of Bid and Proposal Management Professionals.
Haylie had to have three years’ experience as a bid professional and complete a detailed externally-assessed questionnaire to prove she had the skills and experience to reach APMP Practitioner Level.
Richard Leigh, Development Director at Lanes Group, the UK’s largest independent drainage specialist, said: “Haylie certainly deserves professional recognition for the excellent work she does for Lanes.
“Many of our long-term contracts, large and small, and many of our vital strategic customer relationships start with bid proposal documents developed with the help of Haylie and her team.”
Lanes was pleased to invest in Haylie to pursue professional qualifications because it supports career development and wants to ensure its service offer is presented to customers as effectively as possible, he added.
APMP is an international body, with more than 7,000 members, that is committed to the pursuit of proposal and business acquisition excellence.
Haylie said: “Undertaking professional development through APMP made me realise just how much I have learned working at Lanes for the past nine and a half years, given the dynamic nature of the business, the standards we strive to set and the success we’ve had over recent years.
“I am sure the attaining APMP certification will support our work. It gives me confidence that our bid management process is professional and fully supports the excellent services delivered by our teams.”
Haylie works with colleagues across all Lanes divisions and companies to develop detailed bid documents for contracts and packages of work in a wide range of sectors, including water utilities, energy, rail, highways, government, and commerce.
