At Lanes Group, our nationwide team of drainage engineers, drivers and office-based professionals are dedicated to helping homes and businesses to deal with the consequences of blocked drains. However, we are equally committed to educating and informing the public on proper drainage habits, in order to prevent these problems from arising in the first place.
One of the most important ways we do this is through our flagship public awareness campaign Unblocktober, which has returned for 2022 and runs throughout the month of October. This hugely important initiative is designed to empower people across the country to do their bit and improve the health of our drains, sewers, watercourses and seas, at a time when the need for decisive action has never been higher.
Here, we will explain the basics of Unblocktober and the urgency of the 2022 campaign - as well as detailing the efforts of our staff and team members in helping to keep the message and spirit of Unblocktober alive all year round.
Unblocktober has only just begun, so if you feel inspired to take action, please visit the official Unblocktober website and sign up to participate, either as an individual or a business. You will receive a resource pack that includes tips, advice, checklists and other useful materials to help make your month a success.
To fulfil your Unblocktober pledge, all you need to do is avoid putting any of the following items down your sink or toilet for the entire month of October:
You can follow the campaign on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram to get the latest advice and updates, and to check in on what Lanes’ staff are doing to help promote Unblocktober throughout the month.
